Clement’s Top 3 & Offical Visits?

June 30, 2009 by Luke Stampini

Booker T. Washington running back Eduardo Clements has been to Georgia, Michigan, and Miami so far this summer. A trip to Florida State July 13 through 18 is also on the schedule, with a possible trip to Alabama in the future coming as well. It appears the schools that the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Clements has already visited made a good impression.

“I got a top three and it is Georgia, Michigan, and UM,” said Clements.

Georgia has been a team that interested Clements for some time, but Michigan is a new team in the mix and Miami bounced back after sliding down Clements list in recent months.

Michigan: “The whole coaching staff is a great group of guys. The things Coach Rich (Rodriguez) is trying to do with the offense this year, and the guys from Miami (area) who are there now look like they will play early. I just liked the whole campus and the whole atmosphere.”

Miami: “Just talking to my parents about a meeting Coach Shannon, me, my mom, and my family attended. We talked about football and we talked about school, that sort of thing. My family felt that’s one team that should be in my top. That’s one team I put back in the top because of my family.”

Clements stated he plans to have a decision made on what school he will sign with sometime in November or December. Clements also currently has five schools he wants to take official visits to this fall.

“My official visits are to Georgia, Michigan, UM, Tennessee, and South Florida,” said Clements.

One school that may be a surprise for excluded off the list is Florida State, who was Clements’s childhood favorite.

“As of right now, I don’t think I’ll take an official visit to Florida State,” said Clements. “I know what Florida State has to offer. I just want to see what other schools have to offer as of right now.”

Clements also discussed why the Vols look to be getting an official visit from him.

“The way they are recruiting me, Tennessee, I talk to one of their coaches two times each week,” explained Clements. “The things they say they are going to do with their offense this year and stuff like that.”

The one aspect of Clements game that separates him from other backs in South Florida is how natural he looks catching the ball out of the backfield. His ability to make adjustments while the ball is in the air is something some receivers struggle to do.

“That part of my game came from Optimist,” said Clements. “I was like 12 or 13 and I had to go both ways and do different things for the team. Playing receiver was one thing I had to do and I took the time to do several catching drills with my dad and my coaches.”
