Hosley Talks Recruiting

July 27, 2008 by Luke Stampini

SoFLAfootball caught up with one of the premier cornerbacks in South Florida, Delray Beach Atlantic’s Jayron Hosley. The list of offers Hosley has is rather lengthy. Georgia, South Florida, Auburn, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin are among his current offers. However, that list may soon be growing as word spreads on the dynamic 5′10″ 170 pound cornerback from Palm Beach County.

“I’m hearing from Michigan a lot, LSU, Miami, Florida, and Tennessee. Quite a few schools I think once the season starts are going to offer me,” said Hosley.

When asked who he thought was recruiting him the hardest, Hoslsey answered, “South Florida, Georgia, Auburn. Miami is recruiting me hard, but still no offer.”

Miami coaches Wesley McGriff (secondary coach) and Jeff Stoutland (offensive line coach) have been exchanging emails with Hosley in recent weeks, wanting Hosley to visit campus. Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez may also be on the verge of offering Hosley.

“They (Michigan) want to come see me play. They haven’t seen me play in person; they’ve just seen my film. They are going to see a game and go from there. I think in September,” said Hosley.

The two Michigan assistants handling Hosley’s recruitment are Quarterbacks Coach Rod Smith and Defensive Coordinator Scott Shafer.

The 2009 prospect is also planning one last stop this summer.

“I’m going to try to get up to Georgia in the first week of August (for an unofficial visit),” said Hosley.

Hosley missed Georgia’s camp due to trouble with his flight.
