Meline With 3 Offers For Now

September 8, 2008 by Luke Stampini

SoFLAfootball spoke with Westlake Prep standout Ted Meline. The wide out is an intriguing prospect in the 2010 class. Meline measures in at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds and boasts 4.40 speed. The rangy athlete has offers from Boston College, UCF, and a third on its way.

“I talk to (Georgia Assistant) Coach (Willie) Martinez, and he said the offer is in the mail,” said Meline.

Meline has also been hearing from Vanderbilt, Florida, Florida State, and Miami, but none have offered yet. Meline was planning on attending the Florida/Miami game in Gainesville this past Saturday, but decided against it. He is hoping to take in games later in the fall though.

“I think I’m suppose to go to one of the University of Miami game, I don’t know which one yet, and probably a Georgia game,” said Meline.

Meline gets up to top speed rather quickly, and with his long stride just chews up ground on defensive backs. A 33-inch vertical leap, to go along with his height, makes Meline extremely effective in jump ball situations. Meline mentioned he is still a work in progress though.

“Just getting in the weight room now and getting stronger,” said Meline about what he needs to improve on.

Westlake Prep and Meline take on Inlet Grove next Friday September 12th.
