Ramsey Talks Terrapin Offer
March 11, 2010 by Luke Stampini
Dillard cornerback Allen Ramsey recently landed his first offer from the Univeristy of Maryland. The lanky 6-foot 2011 prospect talked to SoFLAfootball about landing the coveted first offer and the Terrapins.
“It’s a good feeling knowing people have been noticing the way I play,” said Ramsey. “An offer to a major D-I school, that’s amazing. I’m just so excited.”
Earlier this week, Ramsey spoke over the phone to Maryland defensive coordinator Don Brown, who extended to offer from the Terps. It seems as if the Maryland coaching staff likes the prospects of having a taller, more physical cornerback on the outside.
“He said that he liked my film and was like ‘do you like to play physical in the jam up close?’ I was like yes,” explained Ramsey of his conversation with Coach Brown.
Ramsey also gave the indication that being the first to offer will carry some weight with him, when it comes time to take official visits.
“I’m thinking about an official because they were the first to offer.”
This weekend Ramsey will be traveling to the campus of USF to take part in the Badger Sport Elite 7-on-7. Ramsey talked about the trip and the opportunity to compete against some of the best in the state of Florida.
“I’m going on a team with some of the best of South Florida’s players and plan to win the whole thing,” said Ramsey. “I just want to show that I’m one of the best in the nation at what I do.”
