Robinson to Name Finalist

August 2, 2008 by Luke Stampini

SoFLAfootball has learned that Deerfield Beach quarterback Denard Robinson plans on narrowing his list of schools this weekend. Robinson is currently meeting with family member to discuss schools they feel best fit him. An announcement is planned Monday of the schools that are in the final running for Robinson’s services next fall. The 6′0″ 180 pound Robinson may have given a clue to which schools might make the list.

“Florida, Georgia, and West Virginia are recruiting me hardest,” said Robinson.

Robinson possesses amazing speed for his size, and clocked the fastest forty time at Friday Night Lights in Gainesville, 4.33 seconds. With that speed and being what some may consider too short for quarterback at the next level, there is some talk of moving Robinson to another position in college. Robinson worked out at wide receiver and quarterback during FNL.

“Georgia is looking at me as a defensive back. West Virginia is looking at me as a quarterback. Florida is looking at me as a quarterback too,” said Robinson.

Robinson no doubt has the arm to be a signal caller at the next level. He is still raw at the quarterback position though, but shows glimpses of what he could be with some more coaching. However, at 6′0″ a solid 180 pounds and boasting a 4.33 forty, those numbers alone ooze potential 1st round NFL draft pick at wide receiver or cornerback.

No matter the position, or the school Robinson finally settles in at, look for him to excel. This level headed kid has the make up to succeed no matter his situation. Check back to SoFLAfootball.com Monday to find out what schools are still in the running for Robinson.
