3 New Schools for Dunkley
September 2, 2008 by Luke Stampini
September 1st was the first time college coaches could call members of the class of 2010 and officially mail out scholarship offers. SoFLAfootball spoke with one of the best wide receivers in the 2010 class, Royal Palm Beach’s Chris Dunkley about the offers he received today. Dunkley was surprised to receive offers from three schools new to him.
Dunkley started garnering lots of attention during this summer’s camp tour. He received verbal offers from Florida State, Florida, USF, West Virginia, and Georgia this summer. All of those schools mailed him the official offers today as well. However, there are three new schools to officially throw their hat in ring for the services of Dunkley.
“Nebraska, Boston College, and Michigan all sent me offers today,” said Dunkley.
Dunkley was a bit shocked to hear from these three schools.
“I haven’t even talked to the coaches at those schools,” said Dunkley.
Look for many more offers to come Dunkley’s way in the weeks and months to come, but Florida State and Florida probably are the early leaders in the Dunkley sweepstakes. When asked if he was going to take an unofficial to Florida this weekend for the highly anticipated match-up with Miami, Dunkley had this to say.
“You know it! I’m going to try to get on the sidelines (laughter).”
Dunkley also plans on taking an unofficial visit with teammate Jordan Dangerfield to USF September 12th for their Friday night showdown with Kansas.
SoFLAfootball will have more updates on official offers members of the 2010 class received in the days to come.
