BA’s Coleman Talks
July 21, 2009 by Luke Stampini
The Boyd Anderson Cobras have several players with good speed and athleticism up and down their roster. 2010 cornerback Cliff Coleman certainly is on the list of athletic Cobras. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder recently participated in Florida State’s Seminole Showtime, and while he was disappointed in his performance, he enjoyed the experience.
“It was real fun,” said Coleman. “I got a chance to go up there and meet some of the former Florida State players and participate in a great camp. I performed well, but sometimes you don’t thing you performed your best. . . I don’t feel I performed my best, but the coaches there said I performed well.”
This was Coleman’s only unofficial visit to any campus this summer, and he has no plans to make any other trips the rest of the summer. In the spring it seemed Coleman was on the verge of a commitment, but the lack of trips may have put a delay on that.
“When I’m making a decision, I really don’t know right now,” said Coleman. “It’s kind of hard, especially when I haven’t taken any visits. I feel I want to take all my visits, to make sure that’s where I want to be.”
Coleman talked about where he would like to take official visits to this coming fall.
“All the schools that have offered me so far, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Louisville,” said Coleman.
Coleman feels Ole Miss and Florida State are the two schools recruiting him the hardest right now, and he talked a little about the Rebels.
“I talked to Coach (Chris) Vaughn this weekend. I had a lot of catching up to do. I hadn’t called him in a long time. We were just catching up on some things.”
Coleman and his Boyd Anderson teammates have been participating in a 7-on-7 league with Cardinal Gibbons once a week this summer.
