Eduardo Clements Talks Offers
September 8, 2008 by Luke Stampini
The top running back to come out of South Florida in the 2010 class may very well be Booker T. Washington’s Eduardo Clements. The talented ball carrier spoke to SoFLAfootball about offers he has received in the mail early on in his recruitment.
“The offers I have received are Iowa, UM, West Virginia, Georgia, Oregon, and Florida,” said the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Clements.
Clements did not talk to any coaches last week, the first week college coaches could call members of the 2010 class, but he did talk to a member of the Miami staff the week before.
“Two weeks ago I talked to Coach (Tim) Harris, and he told me they (Miami) were going to be the first team to offer me and they were,” said Clements.
What exactly is Clements looking at when deciding on a college to attend?
“I just want to go to the best school that has a great education and a school that’s going to let me play. I want to get on the field my first year,” said Clements.
Clements has great speed, clocking a 4.32 second forty at FIU’s camp this summer. That homerun speed combined with Clements ability to power the ball between the tackles makes him one of the top running backs in the nation for the 2010 class. Clements is also a receiving threat as well.
“I catch the ball good out of the backfield. My strengths are my vision and my hands. Teams got to adjust to me out of the backfield and they got to have a linebacker try to guard me. And that’s to my advantage verse any team,” said Clements.
Clements and his Booker T. Washington teammates face Miami Central at Traz Powell Stadium this Friday September 12th with the game kicking off at 7:30.
