Postseason: SoFLA’s Top 10

A wild and surprising 2009 season came to an end this past weekend in Orlando, now see who made the SoFLAfootball Postseason Top 10 Teams.

1. Dwyer - After a hiccup against Glades Central in week 1 of the season, the Panthers (14-1) rolled to a 4A State Championship when they defeated Niceville 42-14 in Orlando.

2. Miramar - The Patriots (14-1) slugged their way through the season with a talented defense and just enough offense to win games, but that offense exploded in the 6A State Championship game when they defeated Deland 42-20.

3. St. Thomas Aquinas - The Raiders (13-1) were cruising much of the season before falling to Manatee 28-20 in the 5A State Semifinals.

4. Miami Central - The Rockets (12-2) looked to be the favorites to win the 6A crown after getting past rival Miami Northwestern, but Central fell to Miramar 21-14 in the 6A State Semifinal.

5. Glades Central - The Raiders (13-1) were clicking much of the season before falling to Cocoa 27-13 in the 2A State Championship game.

6. Miami Northwestern - The Bulls (10-2) were a bit up and down on the season before falling to Miami Central 29-16 in the 6A Regional Semifinal.

7. South Dade - The Buccaneers (10-3) fell to Miami Central in the 6A Regional Finals 25-7.

8. Belen Jesuit - The Wolverines (11-4) went on a magical playoff run to reach the 3A State Championship game where they fell to Pensacola 28-7.

9. Blanche Ely - The Tigers (11-2) rolled most of the regular season and eventually fell to St. Thomas Aquinas 28-16 in the 5A Regional Finals.

10. Chaminade-Madonna - The Lions (12-1) cruised through the season before just falling short to Tampa Catholic 7-6 in the 2B State Semifinals.
