Ragoo Talks Schools

Talented offensive lineman can be difficult to find in the speed state of Florida, but one lineman to watch is Monsignor Pace’s John Ragoo. At 6-foot-7, 360-pounds Ragoo certainly has the size to be gifted blocker, but there are still aspects of Ragoo’s game that need improvement.

“One thing that I need to work on that I know of is strength,” said Ragoo. “Coming from being a basketball player we didn’t really lift many weights. And my speed as in straight away speed.”

Ragoo will also have to continue to improve his footwork and become lighter on his feet. Nothing that cannot be improved with some work and colleges are taking notice.

“I have an offer from the University of Miami,” said Ragoo. “I’m also hearing from USF, Alabama, and North Carolina.”

Ragoo feels USF will be the next to offer. The Bulls raided Pace this past season and inked three of Ragoo’s teammates. If the Bulls do offer, one can assume they would have real shot at landing the massive lineman. Ragoo described what he’s looking for when deciding on what college to attend.

“I always go by this thing I created called The Three A’s. Academics, athletics, and atmosphere, those are the three things I’ll look at in a college.”

This past weekend Ragoo took part in the Under Armour Combine at Dolphin Training Facility in Davie. Some of the best athletes and prospects from South Florida took in the combine, and Ragoo discussed how he felt he performed.

“I felt that it was good for me to go against them being that I come from a private school and don’t go against many public school kids. I felt I held my own, and with a couple more reps that I could have really gotten into it.”

Ragoo is attending the National Underclassmen Combine next weekend, and also plans on camping at North Carolina and Alabama this summer.
