Therezie Hearing from Colleges
February 8, 2010 by Luke Stampini
The talented two-way player at Miami Jackson, Robenson Therezie, has been getting a lot of buzz amongst fan in recent weeks. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder lined up at free safety, running back, and even saw some time at slot receiver this fall for the Generals. The hard-hitting Therezie wants to stay on the defensive side of the ball once he gets to college.
“I want to play defensive back,” said Therezie. “I like the hitting.”
The 2011 prospect has not landed any offers to date, but Therezie says he receiving mail from a handful of schools.
“I’m hearing from a few (schools), Florida State, University of Kentucky, Georgia, and Ole Miss.”
Look for more schools to enter the fray once the spring evaluation period begins for college coaches, especially considering Therezie is coming off an All-Dade performance this past season.
“I thought I did really great (this season),” said Therezie. “I had a really big season this year as a junior, better than all of my other years. I had 81 solo tackles, 9 forced fumbles and 3 interceptions. I also made All-Dade.
“That was one of my expectations of making All-Dade. It really wasn’t a surprise to me.”
Therezie feels he does a lot of things well from his safety position, but still wants to improve at one aspect in particular before next fall.
“I excel at many things like tackling, hitting, and covering. I just want to work on my coverage skills some more.”
