SoFLAfootball Turns One!
July 28, 2009 by Luke Stampini
It is time to celebrate and reflect on the past 12 month as SoFLAfootball turns a year old today. The idea of a website dedicated to the most fertile recruiting grounds for high school football prospects first came up while driving to the 2007 Muck Bowl.
The premise of the website was to shine an even brighter spotlight on the area year round, give prospects who were not national recruits the publicity they lacked but deserved, and go out and see the athletes first hand as many times as possible. SoFLAfootball was successful in doing all three of those points and now attracts readers from across the nation.
Below are just a few of the highlights SoFLAfootball was able to bring to the fans first. Follow the links below to see the articles, updates, and videos.
*******************************************************************
-Wisconsin double dip in SoFLA with commitments from David Gilbert and Conor O’Neill in back to back weeks.
-The first to bring you the college decisions of Jayron Hosley to VaTech and Nu’Keese Richardson to Tennessee. SoFLAfootball was the only website at either star’s announcement.
-The first to bring you video highlights of De’Joshua Johnson, Lynden Trail, and Kelvin Benjamin.
-Let fans know Brandon Bishop pulling the trigger for NC State, as SoFLAfootball knew even before the Wolfpack coaches knew.
-Regrettably starting a media firestorm on the national level by letting fans know a Tennessee assistant coach was asked to leave the Pahokee campus.
-Two of the more prominent sleepers SoFLAfootball has brought to the attention of fans include Phillip Thomas and Djwany Mera.
-Isaac and Jacob Geffard commitment to Louisville.
-As part of our Road Trips around the nation to school that recruit South Florida, SoFLAfootball has made stops at Purdue, Florida, the University of Southern California. Look for at least one more trip in the next year, if not more.
-The first to tell of Quinton Dunbar’s offer from the Miami Hurricanes and subsequent news of his de-commitment from those same Hurricanes.
These next 12 months and beyond SoFLAfootball looks to continue bringing you more in-depth coverage of the prospects from Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade Counties, as well as taking our product to a new level matched by no one
